Crockpot Spaghetti Sauce

Crockpot Spaghetti Sauce

This spaghetti sauce is super easy and absolutely delicious! The tomato paste gives this sauce a rich tomato flavor and a great consistency. It is nice and thick, not runny at all. There is just enough sugar added to blunt the sourness of the tomatoes and allow the other flavors to come through.

Crockpot Spaghetti Sauce

This recipe has been in the family for a long time. My mom learned how to make it from her mother-in-law (my Grandma A). It is definitely my family’s favorite red sauce. It is now my husband’s family’s favorite too.

Crockpot Spaghetti Sauce

Using a crockpot makes this recipe so easy. It makes enough sauce for several meals too which is nice. I love having a batch of this in the fridge for quick and easy meals throughout the week. Plus, it tastes even better after a day or so.

Ingredients

  • 3- 28 ounce cans crushed tomatoes*
  • 1- 18 ounce can tomato paste
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon and 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

Put all ingredients in a crockpot and mix well. Cook on low for five hours, stirring occasionally. This makes about 14- 1 cup servings.

*Note: You can substitute a can of diced tomatoes for a can of crushed if you want the sauce to be chunky.
