Sauteed Green Beans

Sauteed Green Beans

This is one of my favorite vegetable recipes. It is fast, easy and delicious, warms up well and goes with so many things. It is made with frozen beans too so you can make this when you look in the fridge and realize that you do not have any fresh produce. I usually double the recipe when I make these because we eat them up so quickly.

I got this recipe from my mother-in-law. Whenever she made these I would eat an embarrassingly large amount so I finally thought it would be a good idea to find out how to make them. I am so glad I asked because these are simple and really good. I quite often use dried minced garlic because it makes these even faster and easier.

Instructions:

  • 1 pound frozen whole green beans (I use extra fine whole green beans)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon dried minced garlic or 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Heat the oil, garlic and salt over medium heat for a couple minutes. Add the frozen beans and cook covered until they are tender (probably about 10 minutes). Uncover and cook until the beans are starting to brown.
